As an artist, I am always faced with the challenge of creating an image that is consistent with my music while staying true to who I am as a person. Over the years we've seen many artists, from Christina Aguilera to Pink to Alicia Keys change their personal style and image as they have evolved as artists.

Remember the song by India Arie "I Am Not My Hair"? Ironically, most image makeovers start from the head first. Below are some of my favorite (and not so favorite) hair makeovers from female artists and actresses.

Paris Legging Mishap

I was browsing the net earlier and realized alot of celebs are wearing leggings this season. Lindsey Lohan and Cassie were some of my favorites. Although, I cringed at the thought, I took the plunge and wore a pair of black leggings with a shirt to promote my new single at Chris Brown's album release party last month.

Paris Hilton is so cute. I came across a pic of her in a lingerie top and pantyhose and I truly believe she had every intention on wearing black leggings with that top.

I Love New York 2 is one of those shows you swear you shouldn't be watching. Should I even admit I watch it? Somehow VH1 sucked me into a marathon session that managed to hook me.

Anyway, here's a clip of Pretty getting into a "f--k you" match with New York and then tried to fight her when she started bullying his sister.



Seeing him swing his arms faster than a ceiling fan sure didn't help squash the gay rumors that started on the show. Pretty fuuuuunnny. I wonder why VH1 left this clip out...

My Nails Match My Shoes

I’ve been kind've sleeping on Christina Louboutin but this black Avedere Suede boot is a stunner for this season. Gotta love the lace ups with the signature red heel. Definitely on top of my Holiday wish list. His Damage: $1,120.00.

I just found out that there is a Louboutin Manicure that matches these shoes! It involves a dark polish on the top of the nail and applying a red coat on the underside of the nail. The idea seemed hot in a freaky Adam's Family sort've way...
